Rosie the Riveter Inspired Look for the Farmers Market

Ever since I got my Levi’s overalls I’ve been wanting to do a cute retro look with them. What better inspiration than hardworking, badass Rosie the Riveter? This easy-to-replicate look is super fun for a Saturday picnic or a trip to the farmers market!

I stepped away from Rosie’s patriotic color palette and went with purples, blues, and pinks instead. A thrifted violet-hued Gap tank provided a nice pop of color under the overalls and helped keep me cool in the summer heat. I threw my hair up into a simple retro updo with a vintage silk scarf to mimic Rosie’s iconic look.

I just couldn’t resist this perfect hand-gathered bouquet of peonies that were the exact shade of fuchsia as in my scarf! 😍

Born wedges (one of my favorite thrift store finds) and a charming basket tote (also thrifted) finished off the look.  Oh, and some red lipstick, of course! 💋

The Breakdown
Silk Scarf – Vintage from flea market, $5
Tank – Gap, thrifted for $3
Denim Overalls – Levi’s, $60
Wedges – Born, thrifted for $10
Basket Tote – Thrifted for $7

Total Cost $85

While the new Levi’s overalls drive up the price tag on this ensemble, it’s still pretty super affordable at $85. Plus, these overalls provide oh so many fashion possibilities for autumn!
